Darrell Calvillo is of Southern California's finest bagpipers and is based locally to Miramar National Cemetery. Darrell specializes in honoring Veterans and has been performing regularly at Los Angeles National Cemetery since 2002.
Commital Services at Los Angeles National Cemetery Commital Services are in a prescribed format. On the day, the family and guests meet in staging areas near the cemetery entrance on Nobel Dr. A representative from the cemetery escorts the family and guests together in a procession to one of the Commital Shelters. Services are not held graveside. The Commital Services are limited to 30 minutes. The first part of the service is reserved for military honors. This typically takes 10-15 minutes. At the conclusion of the military honors, the remaining time can be used by the family in any manner of their choosing. Often this is a time for religious service, eulogy, or personal reflection.
